This collection is composed primarily of correspondence, as well as newspaper clippings, press releases, gallery floorplans, incident reports, grant proposals, division reports, meeting notes, and finance and budget records. The collection documents the activities of Director of the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum, Craig Black from 1984-1994 and incldues correspondence regarding exhibitions planning, research expeditions, specimen loans, repatriation of cultural property, and museum thefts. The collection also includes information regarding the Museum split with LACMA, the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, and correspondence with President Ronald Reagan.
